    Arts, Culture, & Entertainment Management

    About

TU's interdisciplinary arts, culture and entertainment (ACE) management degree features a curriculum based on management objectives while exploring the arts, public administration, financial management, entertainment and music industry, grant writing, programming and marketing theories. Students graduate with foundational knowledge in best practices and methods for managing arts, entertainment and nonprofit organizations and participating in entrepreneurship and advocacy. The program is ideal for students interested in working in and advocating for the arts and cultural and entertainment organizations through administrative, fundraising, marketing and operational roles.

The bachelor of arts in ACE Management is an interdisciplinary program that combines arts management, business, performing arts and an area of specialization in one of the following areas:

    • Visual arts
    • Performing arts
    • Entertainment and commercial arts
    • Cultural and public administration

A distinguishing factor of TU's ACE Management program is the emphasis on applied learning. Students extend their classroom experiences with opportunities, such as practicums, semester-long internships, field trips, board leadership and the ACE Experience course for majors, which combines meetings with industry professionals, networking opportunities, student-initiated participation in community events and interdisciplinary discussions on leadership issues in the arts and related fields. ACE Management students are eligible for TU-funded experiences, such as Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge (TURC) and D'Arcy internships, as well as ACE Management-funded opportunities to be recognized as Judith and Jean Pape Adams scholars and to study and work in London as Kravis interns.

Arts, Culture, & Entertainment Management Arts, Culture, and Entertainment (ACE) Management is an interdisciplinary program in business, art, culture, entertainment, and entrepreneurship. All students complete the same core studies in ACE Management, as well as a set of courses within their selected specialization, tailored to the specialization's focus and the student's individual interests. Students choose a specialization in one of the following areas: Visual Arts Performing Arts Entertainment and Commercial Arts Cultural and Public Administration The career success of the program's graduates is supported by the five separate on-the-job experiences each student gains. These experiences may be completed locally, regionally, nationally, and/or internationally, including a funded experience in London, exclusive to ACE Management.

    Students will

    1. Explain the core business functions and impacts of arts organizations (such as finance, marketing, economic and social development, entrepreneurship, social justice, and technology) in at least one area of the arts and apply their knowledge to new contexts
    2. Demonstrate clear, precise written and oral communication as well as interpersonal and professional skills, such as connecting with new networks, informational and professional interviewing, and working with others to realize common goals.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

Let’s start with your grade point average (GPA). Yale admissions officers will calculate based on your high school transcript, which you’ll submit with your overall application.

Last year, the reported average high school GPA of an admitted student at Yale was a 4.19 out of 4.0, what we call a “weighted” GPA. However, unweighted GPAs are not very useful, because high schools weight GPAs differently. In truth, you need close to a 4.0 unweighted GPA to get into Yale. That means nearly straight As in every class.

Yale, like the rest of the Ivy League and most other colleges, requires either the SAT or ACT for admission. They have no preference between them, so choose the test that’s a better fit for you, thoroughly prepare for it, and plan to take it multiple times.

The average SAT and ACT composite scores for admitted students at Yale varies, as you can see in the table below. However, keep in mind that unless you fall into certain privileged categories (athletes, legacies, donors, etc.), your SAT/ACT score should be closer to the 75th percentile than the 25th percentile to ensure you’re maximizing your chances of admission.

    English Program Requirements

TOEFL or IELTS is required of most applicants whose native language is not English.

If you have received (or will receive) an undergraduate degree from a college or university where English is the primary language of instruction, and if you have studied in residence at that institution for at least three years, you are exempt from the English Language Test requirement and are not required to submit the TOEFL or IELTS

No exemptions are made on the basis of an advanced degree (e.g. M.A./M.S. or Ph.D.) from any institution.

When you complete your application, you will answer questions about your native language and the primary language of instruction at your baccalaureate institution. If either was English, you will not be required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores when you submit your application. No separate documentation is necessary.
