    About

The Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Foundation Year provides the opportunity to study an integrated 4-year programme. It will enable you to complete a foundation year before progressing onto the first-year of a degree in business and management, education, English, geography, history, media, sociology or law, subject to passing all assessments. The information below describes the foundation year only. The curriculum for the subsequent three years is outlined in the Progression Routes section at the bottom of this page.

You will be equipped with written and oral communication skills and will be supported in becoming a critical, creative thinker and decision maker.

If you’re an international student, you will also be assisted with the transition into UK Higher Education, ready to make use of the resources and opportunities available at Edge Hill University.

Successful completion of the foundation year at the required pass mark enables progression onto selected degrees at Edge Hill University.

Develop the key transferable skills and subject-specific knowledge to join degrees in the subject areas of business and management, education, English, geography, history, media or sociology at Edge Hill University.
