Associate Degree of Business

Overview

• The Associate Degree of Business is the perfect way to start your degree in business at university. An associate degree is a qualification in its own right, but it is also a pathway to a bachelor degree. This means that the 16 courses that you study can count towards a bachelor degree.
• You will complete eight core courses and then choose from an array of business courses which interest you, and will suit your career goals.
• Combine minors in Global Political Economy with Finance, Management and Leadership with Human Resource Management, or Advertising with a minor in Marketing for example.
• It is best to have a chat to our Student Relationship Officersbefore finalising your decision on courses. If you are considering continuing onto a bachelor degree, your choice of courses may have an impact later.

Pre-requisites

To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

• English (Units 3 & 4, C), and
• General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)

We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at high school level (typically studied in Year 12). Find out more about assumed knowledge.

All UniSQ program entry requirements list an IELTS English score as a prerequisite. If you have another English language proficiency score, please consult the table below for equivalent comparisons. English Language Proficiency tests should not be older than two years upon application.

Career outcomes

• As a graduate you will have general business knowledge suitable for a career in the public or private sector, and dependent on the courses you studied, career opportunities in the disciplines of human resources, marketing, administration, eCommerce, small business management, finance and banking. politics and international relations, communications and media, 

To apply to study, you will need to submit your application either via QTAC or directly to UniSQ.

• If you're applying for the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Paramedicine or Bachelor of Midwifery, you will need to apply via QTAC. 
• If you are applying for an undergraduate program with UniSQ as a Domestic student, you are new to UniSQ, you are in Year 12 or completed Year 12 the year prior to commencing your study, or it's been a while since you left school, apply through QTAC.
• If you have previously studied at UniSQ or have completed a Certificate III or higher with TAFE QLD, you can apply directly to UniSQ.
• If you're an International student, you can apply directly to UniSQ.
• If you are applying to study a postgraduate program with UniSQ you will need to submit your application directly to UniSQ via the online application portal.
