This course is suitable for those wishing to prepare for a career as an estate agent, property manager or property valuer. You will gain an understanding of the legal, economic and physical framework within which the property market functions.
Estate agents and auctioneers are involved in the sale, letting, management and valuation of residential and commercial buildings. The course will provide you with the academic knowledge and vocational skills you need to function effectively in the built environment workplace.
The modules cover selling, leasing, valuing and managing property. The course will also develop the analytical skills you need to understand financial areas that affect the job of an estate agent, property valuer and property manager.
To provide property services in the areas of sales, letting or property management, it is a legal requirement to obtain a licence from the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA). Graduates of this course are eligible to apply for this licence.
If you successfully complete Year 2 (having gained 120 ECTS credits), you may exit with a graded Certificate in Auctioneering, Valuation and Estate Agency. This allows you to apply for a licence from the PSRA.
