    Audiology Top-up

    About

On our BSc (Hons) Audiology Top-up course you’ll be able to develop your career, broaden your technical capabilities, and learn from experts.

Over the course of a year (or two years part-time), you can build on your existing qualifications and experience, use the latest hardware and devices, and expand your understanding and contacts in a collaborative environment.

Our work-based course is designed for audiologists and hearing aid dispensers in the NHS, private or independent sectors. It’s accredited by the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) so, if you pass all the required modules, you can expect to register with the RCCP.

The course is delivered through a blend of online learning and residential sessions in Cambridge, to give you a flexible, practical and career-enhancing learning experience. It will broaden your knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of audiology (rehabilitative and diagnostic), as well as the opportunity to complete a research project.

During the residential study days, there’ll be extensive practical elements using the latest hardware from Siemens, GN Resound and Interacoustics.

Residential sessions last for up to five days, and take place in October, November, December, February, March and March/April – plus an exam day in May. There’s also an induction session in September, and the requirement for a 12-hour observation placement in a paediatric setting which will be organised.

All of this is supported by interactive learning resources that you can access from home and work, including instructional videos in the teaching of the clinical competencies.

As a guide, we suggest you plan for five to seven hours of online study per week when you're not attending a residential.
