BA (Hons) Business Management

The BA (Hons) Business Management course aims to equip students with a solid education in business and management theory as an excellent foundation to pursue their professional aspirations. The course allows students to develop a range of practical skills and analytical techniques across several business areas.

The programme covers a variety of business fields including marketing, finance, human resource and leadership and management. The course aims to prepare students for the world of business and all modules are aligned with contemporary business practices.

The course emphasises active learning and facilitative teaching methods, through which students are expected to construct their own knowledge and understanding by engaging in supported processes of enquiry – often carried out in small groups – giving the opportunity for frequent and informal feedback. The course also encourages a participative approach to learning, including collaborative learning and peer review. Students explore business and management issues that are set in realistic contexts, allowing theory to be explored through interesting and challenging situations, thereby marrying critical enquiry with practical insights. Students are at the centre of the learning process, making their own connections between ideas and synthesis is encouraged, with the integration of knowledge from multiple subject areas.

Assessment is carried out at key points during teaching. Formative assessment with either verbal and/or written feedback is offered during each module. Written feedback is provided following summative assessment. Assessment tasks are linked to the objectives of each module and are normally completed by the end of each module. Types of assessment evidence can include assignments, projects, in-class tests and presentations.

A-level : BCC (104 UCAS tariff points).

GCSE : Five at grade C/4 or above, including English Language and Mathematics.

We welcome applications from international students and from those with non-traditional educational or professional qualifications, who shall be considered on their own merits.

International applicants whose first language is not English require an Academic IELTS score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each unit.

1. Complete an online application form.

2. Upon receiving your application we shall check that it is satisfactory before contacting you to request the relevant documentation.

3. If your application is successful you may receive a conditional offer or an unconditional offer. If you receive a conditional offer you must meet some further stipulated conditions before you may enrol on the course. If you receive an unconditional offer you have met all conditions required to enrol.

4. Once you have met the conditions of your offer we shall send you confirmation and request payment of an enrolment deposit, equal to 25% of the tuition fee for home students and 50% for international students. The remaining balance is to be paid in instalments over the course of the academic year.

5. Upon receipt of the enrolment deposit we shall send you an acceptance letter as confirmation of your place of study at Amity. If you are an international student your confirmation shall take the form of your CAS letter. The CAS letter contains our sponsor license number and a unique CAS number which you will need in order to apply for a visa.
