    About

    This is an exciting and innovative course, facilitating an understanding of all aspects required to set up a new business or enterprise. The emphasis on entrepreneurship means you will develop creativity and resourcefulness, as well as hone and improve on your critical thinking skills and events management knowledge. You'll develop capability in technical, supervisory and managerial aspects of the hospitality business with a specific application to the world of entrepreneurship.

    The BA (Hons) Events Management with Entrepreneurship focuses on how to develop a business through effective communication using a variety of tools; demonstrating strong consumer understanding and a have mind-set that takes measured risks, that perceives and creates opportunities and has the resourcefulness to pursue opportunities in an ethical and sustainable way. 

    This course allows you to develop strong leadership and decision-making skills within the context of the events sector. You'll learn to appreciate and reflect on the impacts of the events industry on the environmental, economic, social and cultural fabric of society. You'll also recognise and consider the management disciplines which underpin the management of the events industry and their individual operations. This will entail understanding the markets, customers' needs and behaviour, and other drivers of change that affect the development of the events industry and their products from an entrepreneurial point of view.

    You'll analyse and evaluate theories and models related to events management and operations, synthesise, evaluate and interpret primary and secondary data. Develop effective management strategies for events organisations and enterprises. Apply financial planning and budgeting skills that will assist managers in their decision-making processes. Prepare practical business-related studies (business plans, marketing plans etc.).

    Entry Requirements

    • Tawjihi: 60% for Foundation
    • 3 x AS Levels: Foundation
    • US High School Diploma: GPA 2.0 for Foundation
    • US High School Diploma: GPA 3.0 + SAT1 1070 for Direct Entry to Bachelor's
    • International Baccalaureate (IB): 25 points with minimum 15 at Higher Level for Direct Entry to Bachelor's
    • 3 x A Levels: Direct Entry to Bachelor's

    There is a vast range of careers available to those qualified in the Hospitality, Events and Tourism sectors. These could include jobs such as; expert operatives, supervisors, junior managers, creative 'intrapreneurs' and start-up business entrepreneurs (niche services) have been defined for the hotel, meetings and events, banqueting and business tourism venues. 

    Entertainment in Stadia, Arena and Theatre venues require similar supervisory, operational and junior management roles. UEL is connected to a number of trade and professional associations whose membership comprises employers and operatives from across the Hospitality sector. These include:

    We are thrilled to announce that our international scholarships for September 2022 have been approved and successful award winners are being notified. The is no need to re-apply for another scholarship as your eligibility will be automatically assessed at time of offer. 

    If you are an applicant, you need to ensure that you have submitted a complete application, (including your personal statement and supporting documents) and we will assess your application against our internal criteria.

    Scholarships range between £1,000 and £5,000 - off your first year's tuition fees- (depending on your course  programme). If you receive an offer of a place and are assessed as eligible for an international scholarship, the amount of the award will be indicated in your offer letter. 

    International Scholarships are issued at  the University's discretion and are only available to overseas, fee-paying, offer holders studying on an undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme. Different programmes may attract different amounts and it should be noted that not all applicants will be successful.

    International Scholarships are not available for:  

    • Short courses or exchange/study abroad programmes
    • Franchised programmes
    • Pre-Masters programmes
    • International foundation programmes
    • Pre-sessional English programmes
