    About

    Ideal for those seeking to work in the fast-growing, exciting sports broadcasting industry, this degree is designed for those aspiring for a career either in front of or behind the camera. Learning from UCFB’s experienced practitioners, this course will help you understand practices both on the field and in the studio. With access to first-class equipment and inspiring facilities, as well as visits from industry professionals, students are equipped with the tools to succeed in this thriving sector.
    The English Premier League broadcasting rights for the 2019-22 period are now worth a record-breaking £9.2bn, with Sky, BT Sport and Amazon sharing the £5bn rights to UK coverage and every Premier League match now being shown overseas.

    Entry Requirements

    • A minimum of 2 A Levels including two C grades
    • A BTEC Extended diploma grade DMM
    • A BTEC Diploma grade D*D*
    • A combination of BTEC and A-Level qualifications with at least two C graded A levels or Merit graded BTEC equivalents.
    • International applicants will be asked to achieve Duolingo 95 or IELTS for UKVI at grade 6.0 overall or above.
    • International Baccalaureate (minimum of 30 points)
      An Advanced GNVQ in an appropriate subject at Distinction level
    • An Access Course: minimum of 60 credits, including at least 45 at Level 3
    • An equivalent level 3 qualification

    Career

    This programme is geared towards those who wish to pursue a career in broadcasting, in front of or behind the camera. Huge TV deals are now commonplace in professional football, with each Premier League match now valued at over £10 million. Sport business and broadcasting simply go together. Potential career opportunities upon graduation include match day commentator, videographer, producer, project coordinator, media manager and content creation manager.

    As part of the application process, we require the following documents:

    • A personal statement (preferably no fewer than 500 words) detailing your reasons for wanting to study your chosen course;
    • Copies of transcripts of highest qualification achieved and English translations (if applicable). At GIS we accept and assess applications on an individual basis. With this in mind, we can consider professional experience in lieu of formal qualifications;
    • One academic and one professional reference and English translation (if applicable);
    • Copy of proof of English language level e.g. Academic IELTS certificate (if applicable).

    International applications should also include:

    • A colour copy of a valid passport;
    • Copies of any previous or current UK visas.

    Applications will be assessed by a member of the admissions team and may also be reviewed by our academic programme leader. Applicants will receive updates to their application through email and will be able to view your conditions and progress of your offer by logging in to the applicant portal.
