    About

    A Bachelor of Game Design and Development expands on design, artistic and technical skills for creating modern games and interactive projects. It covers the creation of elements such as environments, characters and stories for immersive experiences, and provides hands-on experience with industry-standard software.
    Throughout the course you will work alongside lecturers who’ll offer practical industry insights while you develop enhanced skills in 2D, 3D, animation, environment art, character art and an understanding of user experience in games. Working in teams, you’ll develop electronic games across multi-platforms, including online, mobile and console in a similar environment to a real-world studio. As well as giving you practical skills, knowledge and design capability, the Bachelor of Game Design & Development also encourages you to take a holistic approach to enhance your abilities in soft skills, such as communication, commercial acumen, and an understanding of business realities.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

  • Australian Year 12 or equivalent.
    • Broadly relevant work experience (documented e.g. CV), demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success; OR
    • Formal, informal or non-formal study, completed or partially completed, demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success; OR
    • Written submission to demonstrate reasonable prospect of success; OR
    • Discipline specific portfolio (art and/or design) – applicable to Design only. 

    International students requirements

    • Australian Year 12 or equivalent; and
    • Academic IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5) or equivalent.

    English Program Requirements

    Entry to all courses requires proficiency in English under the English Language Proficiency Requirements. International applicants and domestic applicants who have not studied at the secondary level in English must demonstrate that they meet the minimum requirements for English language proficiency, specified by the relevant course as outlined in the Admission Criteria for Torrens University Coursework Programs as listed below.
