    About

    Understand how people think, feel and act. Combine a psychology major with a second major in a range of disciplines concerned with human behaviour and development. With excellent facilities including up to 20 research laboratories, and unique placement opportunities, you will graduate for work in a variety of settings or continue on with further study.

    • Connect study of human behaviour with topics such as biology, criminology, health, disability, management, philosophy and artificial intelligence
    • Complete a major sequence in psychology along with an elected major in the behavioural sciences
    • Gain essential knowledge and skills required for further study to practise as a registered psychologist
    • Study core areas such as child development, ageing, emotions, interpersonal relationships, mental health, and human learning and memory
    • Fully accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council

    Entry Requirements

    The minimum entry requirement is comparable to an ATAR of 65, please note that some Flinders programs require higher than a comparable ATAR of 65. For further information please see the individual requirements for programs on the course listings.

    Prerequisite subject requirements

    Credit for previous university studies is granted at the discretion of the faculty that administers a chosen course. If you are seeking credit or exemption you will need to provide detailed subject outlines of studies completed.

    If you do not meet the necessary academic requirements you may enrol in a Foundation Program at Flinders International Study Centre (FISC).

     

    English Program Requirements

    If you don’t meet our English language entry requirements and need to improve your English language proficiency, you can do so through our approved English Language Instruction Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) providers. This means that you can attend the required English language tuition at approved ELICOS providers and gain direct entry into university without an IELTS or TOEFL test.

    Career

    The degree prepares you for a wide range of careers including youth work, advertising, marketing, policy and research, consumer research, industrial relations, human resources, program coordination and welfare. To register as a practising psychologist in Australia, you must complete an honours program in psychology and either two further years of supervised experience, or an approved qualification such as a Master of Psychology (Clinical).
