    About

    If you’re interested in a career in justice or understanding the sociological and psychological characteristics of offenders and victims, then Bond’s Bachelor of Criminal Justice and Criminology is the degree for you.

    This program equips you with multidisciplinary knowledge and skills from foundational criminology and law subjects while enabling you to specialise further in criminology or advanced studies in psychology or law.

    Subjects include justice procedures, cybercrime, criminal law, explaining crime, miscarriages of justice, prevention and public safety, child protection and juvenile justice.

    You will be prepared with industry-relevant skills and knowledge for career options in justice-related positions across private, government, not-for-profit agencies aligned with professional roles in support, policy, and research sectors.

    General Secondary Education Certificate 85%

    Grade average of final year results. Converted to a percentage scale where 50% = pass if otherwise reported.

    General Secondary Education Certificate (Successful Completion) and required SAT score 1020

    Overall test score. Where multiple test results have been presented, the overall test result providing the best rank will be used.

    Criminologist

    Becoming a criminologist can offer a number of different career options. You may specialise in violence prevention, cybercrime, anti-terrorism, juvenile justice, and law enforcement, or you may work in victim support services or offender rehabilitation and reintegration. A 12 per cent job growth is predicted over the next 5 years.

    Correctional services

    Correctional officers enforce rules and regulations inside prisons, maintain the security of inmates, staff and facilities, and supervise daily activities. Correctional officers may specialise in offender diversion programs, prison industrial programs, dog squads and field supervision of offenders on worksites outside a prison setting. Seek (2021) has projected a job growth of 6.8 per cent in the next 5 years, with a typical salary of $80k and above.

    Probation/Parole officer

    Probation and parole officers seek to reduce the risk of reoffending for those involved in justice proceedings. They may work with people serving probation or parole in the community, undertaking community service or in home detention. A projected job growth of 17.7 per cent is predicted in the next 5 years, with an average salary of $85k to $110k according to Seek (2021).
