    Overview

Explore the core disciplines of digital media and its place in society.

With a clear focus on design, the Bachelor of Design (Digital Media) offers you the opportunity to explore diverse aspects of media, and gain a strong digital media literacy.

Combining theory with practical industry-based knowledge, you will develop a digital media design specialisation in interactive media, digital video, digital sound, or digital environments.

    You'll explore fields including:

    • web and app design
    • visual effects, compositioning, and motion graphics
    • interactive mobile media design
    • sound design
    • virtual and augmented reality
    • projection and digital installations.

You will gain a solid grounding in contemporary digital media design theory and practice, and will explore how digital content can be planned, produced, applied and integrated.

The knowledge and skills you will acquire throughout this degree and how they can be applied in your career are described in the learning outcomes.

    Electives and course plan

You will be introduced to a range of digital media fields and then specialise in either Interactive, Digital Video, Sound or Digital Environments.

    Year 1

Learn about digital media via a comprehensive overview of its theory and practice. You will learn the foundations of graphic and digital media design, as well as strategies for understanding of digital media platforms, providing a navigation point used in later years of specialisation.

    Year 2

You will study advanced theories, ideas and concepts of digital media design while gaining advanced skills in your area of specialisation. The focus will be on studio practice.

    Year 3
