Academic Entry Requirements
Successful completion of Australian Year 12 with minimum study scores of 25 in units 3 and 4 English or 30 for English as an Alternative Language or Dialect and Units 1 and 2 of Mathematics; or overseas equivalent.
English language requirement
Overall IELTS band score of 7.0 (with at least 7.5 for Speaking and Listening and 6.5 for Reading and Writing) or equivalent English language test with the proviso that students must prove they meet the English language requirement as determined by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and/or Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) to be eligible for registration.

CASPer
All applicants must sit the CASPer assessment. CASPer is a requirement for many of the initial teacher training courses in Victoria. It is a non-cognitive online test designed to assess an applicant's personal and professional attributes. Essential requirements for enrolment and graduation
Literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education
Prior to graduation students will be required to demonstrate they have achieved approved benchmarks in literacy and numeracy as demonstrated through the Literacy and Numeracy Test in Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) before undertaking their final professional experience placement.
Working with children check
Applicants will be required to hold a valid Working with Children (WWC) Check prior to undertaking professional placements.
Police record check
Applicants will be required to hold a valid National Police Record Check for professional placements.
ATAR
70.00
Minimum ATAR including selection adjustments: The minimum selection rank for this course is equivalent to an ATAR of 70.00. If applicable this includes adjustment factors related to subject adjustments and SEAS.

Federation University accepts a variety of English language tests as proof of English proficiency. English proficiency assessment should be made using an external English test (Academic IELTS or equivalent) with the results determining whether the student can enter into our programs directly or via an appropriate English program.
From 1 July 2016 direct entry without an external English test will be only permitted when student meets the English exemption requirements described on the Federation English language requirements page as per the Simplified Student Visa Framework’s English requirements.
