    About

    Highlights

    • Enhance your engineering capabilities with skills in mathematical modelling, analysis and design to help solve complex problems.
    • Complete 2 degrees in 5 years full-time.
    • Choose from any engineering major: chemical and sustainable process, civil, computer and software systems, electrical, electrical and aerospace, electrical and renewable power, mechatronics, mechanical, or medical engineering.
    • Our engineering degree includes honours-level content integrated throughout the course.
    • Specialise in applied and computational mathematics, operations research or statistics.
    • Graduate eligible for Engineers Australia (EA) membership and with a highly regarded and internationally-recognised qualification.

As an engineering graduate, you will be technically competent in the fundamentals of mathematics, science, and engineering, with advanced knowledge in at least one specialist area of engineering. The course includes a design stream as well as a capstone project where you will design and build an engineering artefact using an advanced level of skill while developing your professional capability as an engineer. The course will help you to develop an awareness of the important social, environmental and economic impacts of your engineering decisions, and prepare you for practice as internationally recognised professional engineer.

The Bachelor of Mathematics course provides a modern and rigorous training in mathematics to prepare you for both graduate careers in industry and government as well as for honours and postgraduate research work. You will be able to clearly define a path of study associated with different graduate outcomes in order to meet the wide range of employment possibilities open to you as an mathematics graduate. You also have the option to include a second major and minor options in mathematics and statistics. There is currently a shortage of mathematical scientists in Australia and abroad, and this course will give you the essential grounding in applied mathematics, computational methods, decision science and statistics, to help you forge a successful career in the field.
