Mechatronic engineering combines mechanical engineering, electronic and computer engineering and software design to create intelligent machines, such as ‘intelligent’ robots and safer cars.

You’ll spend over 50% of the contact hours doing hands-on, practical assignments, tutorials and project work in well-resourced, state-of-the-art laboratories and workshops.
You’ll study a wide range of subjects, from Algebra and Geometry, Professional Development for Engineers, Engineering and Electrical Science, Mechanics and Computer-Aided Design to Instrumentation, Design Methodology, Automation and Computer Networks.
Work Placement: You’ll have the opportunity to gain work experience through an industry placement at the end of Year 3, lasting 8-10 weeks.
IT Requirements:
A HIGH spec is recommended (i.e. able to run Win 10, design packages such as Solid Works etc. should be able to run comfortably i.e. needs high RAM, larger SSD, Graphics acceleration, etc.). A Windows machine is required. Apple Macs are not recommended due to software package installation requirements.
