    Through your exercise and sport science degree, you'll develop the knowledge and skills to apply exercise and sport science principles to improve the performance, health and participation of individuals, athletes and teams. The Bachelor of Business (Sport Management) teaches you about the business of sport, including sport systems, finance, marketing, management and law.     At the same time, you will focus your expertise on sport science and elite performance. The nationally recognised Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science is the field leader in Victoria and focuses on areas like:

    • motor learning and development.

    Learning from teachers who are active in the industry means your classroom becomes a hub of the latest ideas, approaches and techniques. As well as classroom-based learning, you will undertake at least 220 hours of fieldwork experience in real-world settings through the Exercise Programming and Exercise and Sports Practicum units,plus 100 or more hours with a host sporting organisation in the Sport Management Practicum unit.

    This extensive practical experience gives you the expertise to pursue opportunities varying from traditional sport, exercise and coaching occupations, to sports administration, management, governance and development roles.

    Deakin's undergraduate Exercise/Sport Science/Business course will provide a great range of learning related to sport, health and business management.

    Entry Requirements

    Complete foundation studies and/or a diploma program at Deakin College or at one of Deakin's TAFE partners.

    English Program Requirements

    All students must be able to prove that they can meet our English language requirements. Our English language requirements are divided into five bands – from Band A through to Band E. These Bands indicate the level of English required to undertake the course, with Band E representing the highest English skill level required.

    You will be able to provide evidence of your English language skills if you have:

    • completed an English language test such as IELTS, Pearson, TOEFL or Cambridge
      • Applicants who are unable to sit standard tests due to public health concerns relating to the COVID-19 pandemic can complete an online English language test such as IELTS Indicator, OET@Home, TOEFL Special Home Edition.
    • completed some types of university (tertiary) or high-school (secondary) studies
    • completed an approved English subject in IB Diploma, Australian Year 12 or other high school qualifications
    • lived and worked in an English speaking country for at least five years.
