    About

    Understanding the sustainability issues of today is key to solving the challenges of the future. From business and technology to social sciences and the environment, sustainability impacts every aspect of human endeavour. Now, more than ever, employers are looking for graduates with an in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of environmental technologies, legislation, and societal trends.

    Bond’s Bachelor of Global Studies (Sustainability) is a unique multi-disciplinary program that combines International Relations and Sustainability to develop active global citizens with knowledge and skills enabling you to contribute to the development of sustainable societies of the future.

    The program structure looks at a broad range of issues related to globalisation and the development of sustainable communities, including climate change, sustainable development, global health and disease, and transnational business. It will also prepare you for global leadership roles in devising solutions by incorporating studies in international relations, international institutions, diplomacy, and intercultural partnerships.

    Entry Requirements

    General Secondary Education Certificate 85%

    Grade average of final year results. Converted to a percentage scale where 50% = pass if otherwise reported.

    General Secondary Education Certificate (Successful Completion) and required SAT score 1020

    Overall test score. Where multiple test results have been presented, the overall test result providing the best rank will be used.

    English language proficiency requirements

    Bond's programs are taught and assessed in English, so depending on your educational background and citizenship, you may be required to provide evidence that your English language ability meets our requirements. This may include submitting results from an approved English Language Test taken in the past two years - you can see the required results for the most common approved tests below. There are other ways to demonstrate English language proficiency and gain entry into this program, including demonstrating prior study in English, or other qualifications. If your qualification does not meet the English language requirements then you will need to provide an English proficiency test for admission.

    What can you do with your degree?

    Graduates of this program will have an increased understanding of critical sustainability issues in the global and local contexts by studying relationships between plants, animals and humans and their environment. They will develop cognitive skills to identify, analyse and synthesise knowledge relating to different causes and possible solutions of global sustainability challenges. They will have the ability to analyse the environmental impact of actions and planned actions and provide guidance in matters of conservation and land management. 

    Graduates could expect to find employment across a range of fields including government public service, politics, conservation, community development, agricultural and fisheries enterprises, environmental impact assessment, ethical supply chain management, defence, diplomacy, and trade.

    International Relations graduates are commonly recruited for Project and Program related roles in government agencies, notably, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Department of Defence, Australian Bureau of Statistics, Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, Australian Secret Intelligence Service, Australian Public Service, and Tourism Australia.

    Graduates with an understanding of international affairs, globalisation, political, environmental, and societal concerns are sought after in most global offices with an international outreach.
