    Professional accreditation

    This major is accredited by the Australian Community Workers Association(ACWA). Students enrolled in or after Semester 2, 2020 who havesuccessfully met mandatory attendance requirements as well as a minimum of 400 hours of professional placement (fieldwork) will be eligible to apply for ACWA membership.

    Pre-requisites

    To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

    • English (Units 3 & 4, C) 

    We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at high school level (typically studied in Year 12). Find out more about assumed knowledge.

    English Program Requirements

    English Language Proficiency tests should not be older than two years upon application.

    • Graduates can work as community development officers and human service professionals in government and community settings, social care institutions, or organisations that design and offer programs and services to Indigenous communities.

    To apply to study, you will need to submit your application either via QTAC or directly to UniSQ.

    • If you're applying for the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Paramedicine or Bachelor of Midwifery, you will need to apply via QTAC
    • If you are applying for an undergraduate program with UniSQ as a Domestic student, you are new to UniSQ, you are in Year 12 or completed Year 12 the year prior to commencing your study, or it's been a while since you left school, apply through QTAC.
    • If you have previously studied at UniSQ or have completed a Certificate III or higher with TAFE QLD, you can apply directly to UniSQ.
    • If you're an International student, you can apply directly to UniSQ.
    • If you are applying to study a postgraduate program with UniSQ you will need to submit your application directly to UniSQ via the online application portal.
