    About

    Note

This course information relates to students commencing a combined degree with the Bachelor of International Studies in 2022. Students who commenced a combined degree with the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies prior to 2022 should refer to the Handbook for the year they commenced their degree.

This course is designed for aspiring legal professionals with a global outlook, seeking to blend law with international studies. You will meet the academic requirements for admission to practise Law in NSW while gaining a unique international perspective, enhanced by the opportunity to study abroad for up to a year.

You will acquire a deep understanding of legal principles and practical insights into cross-cultural legal issues, as well as a country-specific major that allows you to develop skills in another language and better understand their culture. This will equip you for roles in international law or providing legal counsel for global entities or foreign investors. Teaching methods include a diverse range of learning activities and interactive classes together with a significant overseas study component, ensuring a dynamic and practical learning environment.

In the International Studies component, students select a country major that guides their choice of language and culture subjects in preparation for their overseas experience.

In addition to immersing students in another culture, the international studies program also delivers hands-on experience with cross-cultural legal issues, preparing students for international legal roles or to provide legal expertise for international organisations or foreign investors. This course also meets the academic requirements for admission to practise law in NSW.
