    About

    Professional accreditation

    This degree is pending accreditation by the Occupational Therapy Council of Australia (Ltd). Once accredited, graduates will be eligible to apply for registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

    Upon approval, this degree will be compliant with World Federation of Occupational Therapists Minimum Standards for the Education of Occupational Therapists and will meet the Australian Occupational Therapy Competency Standards for safe and effective occupational therapy practice.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    • Have achieved a minimum Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 75.0, or equivalent qualification.

    To study this degree we also assume you have sound knowledge in:

    • English (Units 3 & 4, C)
    • one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Psychology (Units 3 & 4, C) or equivalent.

    We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at high school level (typically studied in Year 12). Find out more about assumed knowledge.

    Please note: Meeting entry requirements does not guarantee admission. Places within the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) are limited by quota. Quota size is determined by the availability of placements. Where the quota is filled, no further places will be offered.

    English Program Requirements

    All UniSQ program entry requirements list an IELTS English score as a prerequisite. If you have another English language proficiency score, please consult the table below for equivalent comparisons.     English Language Proficiency tests should not be older than two years upon application.

    Career outcomes

    • Graduates can register with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and practise as an occupational therapist in Australia. 
    • You can find work as an occupational therapist in hospitals, aged care services, child and adolescent services, community health and mental health, private practice, or vocational rehabilitation.
    • This qualification equips graduates to be leaders in the delivery of digital health care, which is critical for people living in regional and rural communities, to be well-skilled in rural and remote health care.
    • Graduates will be eligible for registration with overseas professional bodies to enable them to work internationally.

    How to Apply

    To apply to study, you will need to submit your application either via QTAC or directly to UniSQ.

    • If you're applying for the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Paramedicine or Bachelor of Midwifery, you will need to apply via QTAC
    • If you are applying for an undergraduate program with UniSQ as a Domestic student, you are new to UniSQ, you are in Year 12 or completed Year 12 the year prior to commencing your study, or it's been a while since you left school, apply through QTAC.
    • If you have previously studied at UniSQ or have completed a Certificate III or higher with TAFE QLD, you can apply directly to UniSQ.
    • If you're an International student, you can apply directly to UniSQ.
    • If you are applying to study a postgraduate program with UniSQ you will need to submit your application directly to UniSQ via the online application portal.
