This comprehensive course is designed for people with an aptitude for numbers and desire to forge a career in professional accounting.

Whether you see yourself working for the government a company or even your own business this degree will teach you the ins and outs of the systems and financial strategies that will prepare you for a rewarding career.

Your core subjects will include accounting taxation law auditing finance and economics. In addition you’ll be future-proofing your career by developing skills in creativity innovation marketing and digital business. 

You will have the opportunity to undertake a practical placement internship or project. The career opportunities for accounting graduates are vast. According to the Australian Government Job Outlook projections demand for accountants is forecast to grow. Our Bachelor of Professional Accounting course gives you the flexibility to choose a career in any industry. You could become a financial accountant management accountant auditor business manager financial consultant or CFO just to name a few. Accountancy is also considered a great launching pad to become a CEO. 

The Bachelor of Professional Accounting is recognised by both CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand enabling you to pursue a pathway to qualification as a professional accountant.

The degree is also accredited with the Tax Practitioners Board allowing graduates a streamlined pathway to becoming a registered tax agent.

Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or overseas equivalent.

English language requirement

Overall Academic IELTS score of 6.0 with no bands less than 6.0; or equivalent

Federation University accepts a variety of English language tests as proof of English proficiency. English proficiency assessment should be made using an external English test (Academic IELTS or equivalent) with the results determining whether the student can enter into our programs directly or via an appropriate English program.

From 1 July 2016 direct entry without an external English test will be only permitted when student meets the English exemption requirements described on the Federation English language requirements page as per the Simplified Student Visa Framework’s English requirements.

International students currently studying VCE in Victoria (Australia) are required to apply through VTAC.

All other international students applying for undergraduate postgraduate coursework and higher degrees by Research can apply now directly to Federation University using our online application system (StudyLink).
