    About

    Understand the science to support the world's biological diversity. Develop the knowledge and skills to analyse and interpret the impacts of key environmental drivers such as habitat destruction and fragmentation, changing climates, altered fire regimes and invasive species. The degree also teaches principles of reserve design, habitat restoration and other means of conserving species affected by human impacts.

    • Understand the challenges facing the environment and wildlife populations
    • Specialist topics deal with the identification, monitoring and conservation of native plant and animal species, natural ecosystems, and the design of parks and reserves
    • Learn from staff with extensive links with national and international collaborators
    • Gain practical and theoretical knowledge in assessing the nature and value of biodiversity in natural and disturbed habitats
    • Learn about real-life and current conservation management techniques

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    The minimum entry requirement is comparable to an ATAR of 65, please note that some Flinders programs require higher than a comparable ATAR of 65. For further information please see the individual requirements for programs on the course listings.

    Prerequisite subject requirements

    Credit for previous university studies is granted at the discretion of the faculty that administers a chosen course. If you are seeking credit or exemption you will need to provide detailed subject outlines of studies completed.

    If you do not meet the necessary academic requirements you may enrol in a Foundation Program at Flinders International Study Centre (FISC).

     

    English Program Requirements

    If you don’t meet our English language entry requirements and need to improve your English language proficiency, you can do so through our approved English Language Instruction Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) providers. This means that you can attend the required English language tuition at approved ELICOS providers and gain direct entry into university without an IELTS or TOEFL test.
