Bachelor of Science with a Major in Biomolecular Sciences

    About

Biomolecular sciences embodies the analysis, transformation and manipulation of molecules and the molecular interpretation of the world around us. Biomolecular scientists have been responsible for developing non-invasive cancer diagnoses and rapid pathogen detection, novel medicines and new ways to produce cheap, renewable energy. Those with expertise in this field are critical to our future development.

This major will help you understand how molecules form, interact and influence the structure and function of biological systems. You’ll learn how to apply knowledge of the biomolecular sciences to solve theoretical and practical problems. And you’ll engage in structured research and be able to present concepts and results to diverse audiences using a variety of modes of communication.

Part of what makes Macquarie future focused is that we allow you the freedom to explore your interests across a range of areas, rather than lock you in to a single, narrow field. So follow your passions and tailor your course to your needs and interests.

    Entry Requirements

For international students, Macquarie uses a selection rank to determine the minimum eligibility requirement for each undergraduate course. This rank has been converted into equivalent scores for various recognised international high school qualifications and university entrance examinations, including global qualifications like the International Baccalaureate (IB) and GCE A-Levels.

For more information on how this score is converted for your qualification, please see our academic entry requirements for international students.
