Human biology is concerned with the structure and function of humans from the holistic to the molecular level. It encompasses all aspects of what it is to be human, including genetics, anatomy, physiology, anthropology, ecology and epidemiology.
As well as core units in human physiology, the Human biology major covers a broad range of areas relevant to human biology. Using an interdisciplinary approach, you’ll investigate complex biological systems. You’ll apply scientific methods; formulate hypotheses and design experiments; and collect and analyse data to develop logical, evidence-based arguments. You’ll identify major health issues affecting the population and describe developments in research initiatives. And you’ll demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal, leadership and cooperative team skills, and an informed ethical approach fitting for your future career in health sciences.
