    About

    Combine all elements of the grape-to-table journey with the Bachelor of Wine Business from Charles Sturt University. If you aspire to a career in sales and marketing or to manage and run a vineyard or winery, this course is for you.

    You can choose to study this course part-time over six years or fast-track your degree – either online or via blended learning (a combination of on-campus and online study) – and complete within four years.

    A wide range of subjects mean you will acquire skills in accounting, management and marketing. Our graduates are knowledgeable, practical, job-ready and meet the highest expectations of the wine industry. This course includes hands-on experience through workplace learning.

  • Tailor your course

    Complete your studies while working in the wine industry, gaining both theoretical and practical experience. If you do not wish to study the business element of the degree, you may choose to exit after four years of study with an Associate Degree in Winegrowing.

  • Articulation agreements

    The Diploma of Production Horticulture (Viticulture), Diploma of Viticulture and Diploma of Wine Technology at Goulburn Ovens TAFE (GOTAFE) provide an admission pathway to the Bachelor of Wine Business. Graduates of these TAFE qualifications will receive credit towards their Charles Sturt University degree.

    You can study this degree online over six years part-time, so you can continue working while you learn. You may also be able to study parts of your course on campus, and/or take more subjects in order to fast-track your degree – potentially graduating in just 4–5 years.

    Entry Requirements

    Bachelor of Wine Business

    A completed High School Certificate with an ATAR of 60 (including adjustment factors) or equivalent.
    OR
    A completed Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) with an equivalent ranking to the currently listed ATAR
    OR
    A completed AQF Certificate III or higher level qualification.
    OR
    50% completion of an AQF Diploma level qualification.
    OR
    A completed Tertiary Preparation Course from an Australian University or an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
    OR
    Successful completion of two university level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
    AND
    STANDARD English Language Proficiency requirements. Refer to http://futurestudents.csu.edu.au/apply/english-language for the specific requirements.

    NOTE
    Successful applicants who do not have an appropriate high school background in chemistry or mathematics are strongly recommended to undertake Introductory Chemistry (SSS010) and Maths Skills 2 - Intermediate A & B (SSS072 & SSS073) in the University's Study Link program prior to commencing study in the course.

    This course contains workplace learning components requiring access to winery or basic winemaking and analysis equipment for the production of a wine (WSC202) and a four-week placement in a commercial vineyard, winery or wine business (AHT274).

    English Program Requirements

    1. providing evidence of having completed a sufficient standard of study in English
    2. have obtained an Academic IELTS within the last 2 years with:
      1. a minimum overall score of 6
      2. no individual score below 5.5
    3. obtaining a qualification deemed to be equivalent to Academic IELTS (and its minimum scores) by Charles Sturt.

    This degree will prepare you for a business career in the rapidly expanding global wine industry. You'll be well placed to establish and/or develop your own vineyard and/or small winery.
