About

The four-semester, primarily research-oriented Betriebswirtschaftslehre / Business Administration master's program imparts in-depth knowledge in the major topics of "Accounting and Finance," "Market-Oriented Management" or "Innovation and Information." The master's program is characterized by clearly structured choices which give students the opportunity to develop a customized profile. A stay abroad is possible particularly in the third semester. Sociology and Cultural Studies modules and the transfer of key qualifications in a special soft skills module round out the program in interdisciplinary fashion. The Betriebswirtschaftslehre / Business Administration master's program is characterized by an intimate study atmosphere and excellent advisement relations.

A career as a specialist or manager in the field of business is open to successful graduates. As a master's graduate with the official title "Master of Science (M.Sc.) Business Administration," you can work at auditing and consulting companies, on the management level of financial service providers and banks, at logistics service providers and market research institutes, in the research, innovation and development departments of large companies, in the marketing industry or in controlling, for example.

Entry Requirements

Required university degree Certification of a degree from a subject-relevant bachelor's program in "Economics" or a comparable domestic or foreign qualifying university diploma.
At least 90 credit points (CP) in the completed program must have been earned in Economics subjects and the related ancillary sciences, which teach methodological competence (e.g. Mathematics for Economists, Statistics).
Furthermore, there must be methodological competencies in the form of at least 15 CP from the fields of Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Econometrics or Empirical Economic Research. Of these 15 CP, at least 5 CP must have been earned in Mathematics and at least 5 CP in Statistics. The imparting of knowledge, not its application, must be demonstrated, because the Master program is more research-oriented.

English Program Requirements

The German Language Examination for University Entrance (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang - DSH), level DSH-2, must be passed before beginning the course of study. Other language certifications which are equivalent to the level DSH 2 can be found in theRahmenordnung über Deutsche Sprachprüfungen für das Studium an deutschen Hochschulen.

How to Apply

1. Preparation phase

Learn about program offerings and decide what you would like to study.
Examine whether you meet the admission requirements for your program
Make certified copies of your certificates and have translations of them created. Never send your original certificate with your application. You can find information on who may provide certification and translation. There are additional provisions for.
Learn whether you need a , which documents you must submit to the embassy and how long it takes until you get an appointment there.

2. The application for a first semester

On our homepage, choose the program for which you would like to apply. At the bottom of the website, you are forwarded to the applicant portal. Alternatively, you can also go to the uni-assist homepage.
Register at uni-assist and answer the questions.
Create an application for the Philipps University Marburg.
Print and sign the application.
Pay any processing fee that is due.
Send all application documents to uni-assist before the application deadline expires. We recommend applying six weeks before the deadline period ends.

3. After submitting the application

You will receive a message by email as to whether your application was complete. If documentation is missing, you can submit it after the fact, before the application deadline. If your application is complete and your certificate entitles you for the desired program, then uni-assist will forward your documents to Uni Marburg electronically.
The Philipps University Marburg carries out the respective admissions process.
If you are granted a university place, you will receive a letter of acceptance by postal mail. In addition, your account information for our Marvin portal will also be sent to you by email.
No later than now, you should take care of applying for a visa.
Begin looking for housing.
The letter of acceptance will describe the documents you must send to us for registration. You can send these either from abroad or once you are in Germany. It is important that you comply with the deadline.

4. Once you have arrived in Germany

Sign a lease agreement, open a bank account, obtain health insurance, register your place of address, apply for permit of residence from the Ausländerbehörde (Foreigners' Office). If you don't wish to do that by yourself, participate in the International Office's orientation week.
You may have to participate in the DSH (German examination) shortly before the start of the semester.
If you are not yet enrolled, take care of that now.
