About

The Department of Philosophy at Bielefeld University and the Scuola di Lettere e Beni culturali des Dipartimento di Filosofia e Comunicazione at the University of Bologna jointly offer a double degree programme in philosophy. After the successful completion of the programme, students receive an MA degree in philosophy from Bielefeld University and a Laurea Magistrale in Scienze Filosofiche from the University of Bologna. The topical profiles of the two philosophy programmesÂ excellently complement one another. TheÂ University of Bologna places emphasis on the history of philosophy, and Bielefeld University encourages students to develop their own arguments on contemporary philosophical problems. This combination of skills together with international and intercultural experiences opens up new spaces of academic expertise and professional orientation.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in philosophy (German Bachelor of Arts, Italian Laurea). Applications (resume, Bachelor's certificate, cover letter/statement of purpose, Bachelor's thesis evaluation) can be submitted to Bielefeld University or the University of Bologna.
