    Introduction

    Salford was an early information modelling advocate and one of the first institutions to address knowledge and skills in this field. Our MSc Building Information Management (BIM) and Digital Built Environments postgraduate course focuses strategically on this changing landscape, designed with the aim to educate and support industry professionals respond to current and future challenges in client expectations and wider society.

    This course provides you with extensive knowledge in the fields of BIM, Lean, and integrated design and project delivery approaches to deliver better whole life value through digital built environments. It is highly relevant for practitioners and graduates in the fields of architecture, engineering construction, and built environment, who wish to specialise in this area of industry digital transformation.

    APPLICANT PROFILE

    This industry-shaping course is recommended for architecture and built environment graduates and experienced industry professionals seeking a career influencing the digital transformation of work environments.

    ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

    All of our courses are taught and assessed in English. If English is not your first language, you must meet our minimum English language entry requirements. An IELTS score of 6.0 (no element below 5.5) is proof of this, however we do accept a range of equivalent qualifications.

    Standard entry requirements

    Undergraduate Degree

    • A minimum second class undergraduate honours degree in architecture, or
    • A minimum second class undergraduate honours degree in engineering, project management or other built environment discipline, or
    • A recognised professional qualification in a cognate discipline.

    Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)

    We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.

    The Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process could help you to make your work and life experience count. The APL process can be used for entry onto courses or to give you exemptions from parts of your course.

    Two forms of APL may be used for entry: the Accreditation of Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) or the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).
