    • You will learn about the investigation, diagnosis and monitoring of human health and disease through a variety of topics including immunology, blood science, genetics, microbiology, and bioinformatics.
    • This degree will give you a solid foundation in the study of cellular, molecular, and chemical biology.

    • Enhance your CV with up to a years’ experience working in industry
    • Students arrange their work placement under the guidance of our Director for Employability. (If you do not secure a placement, then you can transfer to the sister course BSc Biomedical Science (B900).
    • The Biomedical Science teaching staff are recognised as expert and innovative educators and researchers.
    • All students have access to our fantastic modern laboratories, analytical facilities, and microscopy suites on campus.

    Our Staff

    The majority of teaching staff in the Department of Life Sciences are qualified to PhD level and are research active. Vocational courses also have staff whose background lies within industry. The Department has a large number of research only staff with whom students may have contact.

    A Levels BBB-BCC with B in Biology or Chemistry

    GCSE requirements (minimum grade C/4):
    Minimum grade C/4 in English or Welsh, Science and Mathematics

    BTEC National Diploma:
    DDD-DDM in a specified subject

    International Baccalaureate:
    30-28 with 5 points in Biology at Higher Level

    European Baccalaureate:
    75%-65% overall with 7 in Biology
