Overview IntroductionThe bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences at University of Barcelona enables students to acquire an in-depth understanding of the structure and function of the human body, focusing particularly on the determinants of health and disease, including genetic and environmental factors. Biomedicine is the fastest-growing area of the experimental sciences and has witnessed revolutionary changes in recent years, with an increasing focus on the translation of basic knowledge into specific applications for the improvement of public health.The course curriculum combines cross-disciplinary content from genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, physiology, cell biology and statistics to provide a global understanding of the causes of disease and the tools available for analysis, diagnosis and treatment. 1 : Students with an International Baccalaureate or European Baccalaureate and students from education systems in states that are members of the European Union or with which Spain has signed international agreements of reciprocity*, who meet academic requirements in their own education systems to enter universities in their countries.The entrance mark is that recorded in the UNEDasiss accreditation. The entrance mark must be between 5 and 10 points.There are two options for improving the university entrance mark and calculating the admission mark:a) The student takes examinations in subjects in the specific/optional phase of the upper secondary level examination for university admission (EBAU) / university entrance exams (PAU) at any university in Spain, and the two marks that are highest after weighting are taken into consideration.b)The student takes examinations in subjects of the UNEDasiss specific skill tests (PCE), and the two highest marks after weighting are taken into consideration, as long as these subject areas can be weighted in Catalonia.
