    BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management

    About

Project managers are involved with a project throughout its lifecycle; from early feasibility and design stages, through to construction and handover. The role has a wide range of applications, from the management of new build projects, maintenance and refurbishment, to strategic asset management. Accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), this project management course prepares you for a variety of project management roles in the construction industry. You will develop core project management skills that reflect the needs of the profession, such as programming and planning, project administration, risk management, construction technology, contract practice, health and safety, sustainability, and managing people. Project management is a thriving profession in the UK and internationally. By the time you graduate, you will have the skills and confidence to progress as a construction project manager. This course is also available through Network75, a combined work and study route.

A good Construction Project Manager is essential to the success of any development.  Every project, whether a new build or renovation, residential development, skyscraper, or infrastructure project, needs managing to ensure it is completed on time, within budget and to high quality. The Construction Project Manager works closely with the client, the design team and the contractor.  They are involved at every stage of a project and oversee every aspect, including the planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of a project.

Studying Construction Project Management at USW will give you the necessary skills and adaptability required in an increasingly dynamic sector.  You will study the latest practice and procedures for the project management of new-build and refurbishment projects. Your studies will cover industrial initiatives such as strategic partnering and collaboration, prefabrication and offsite manufacture, lean construction techniques, and dispute resolution. You will also learn how to apply critical thinking to your experiences, which will help you work towards continuous professional development. We aim to provide you with the skills and qualifications for a rewarding and well-paid career.
