About this course
As well as our three-year course, you can choose one of our four-year options. Opt for either a built-in placement year or a year studying abroad. But whichever course you go for, you’re guaranteed CV-boosting opportunities. Placements, internships, real-life business projects, networking, mentoring, international summer schools… It’s all part of what we call Authentic Business Learning. This is our real-life, hands-on, hard-working approach to teaching.
You also get access to industry-standard facilities, like our Bloomberg Financial Markets Laboratory. Here, you practise trading in real time using databases like Bloomberg, Orbis and FAME. Plus, there’s our Business Lounge. It’s a professional space to meet industry networks, like-minded entrepreneurs, and our corporate partners.
Like all Hull University Business School programmes, AACSB accredits our course. Fewer than 2% of business programmes worldwide hold this accreditation. And we’re accredited by the main accountancy bodies. ACCA (also as an Accelerate Partner), CIMA (as a University Partner), CIPFA, ICAEW (as a Partner in Learning) AIA, CFA and CPA Australia.
Throughout your degree, you’re expected to study for 1,200 hours per year. That’s based on 200 hours per 20 credit module. And it includes scheduled hours, time spent on placement and independent study. How this time is divided across the year varies and depends on the module you are studying.
How you'll be assessed depends on the course you study, and the modules you choose. You may be assessed through a mix of examinations, coursework, presentations and group projects.
