English Program Requirements

You must pass the “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang” (DSH-2) as evidence that your spoken and written command of the German language is adequate for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes for which the language of instruction is German.

Participating in the DSH at the Studienkolleg is subject to charge.

Career

As regards professional fields of activity, graduates of the Business Administration and Economics (J.B.A.) component will most likely not be able to compete with fully trained business administrators, economists or business engineers for the same jobs. This is due to the significantly smaller scope of business-related contents in comparison to the pure business administration or economics programmes. The Business Administration and Economics (J.B.A.) component is thus especially recommended for those who primarily consider themselves humanists or sociologists but would like to give themselves a special profile by obtaining fundamental business skills. Job opportunities can thus be found especially in areas where linguistic and communicative abilities are needed in companies, such as in public relations, marketing, fund raising, human resource management, in the field of technical documentation, etc. Potential employers are private companies, business consultants as well as banks or insurance companies. In order to have a chance in large corporations or in middle-sized companies operating on an international level, relevant internships and international experience ideally gained during the study programme or as a trainee are practically inevitable.
