Business Administration (MBA)

 We now offer two MBA program options. 

• The MBA is a 12-month (3 terms, full time) general degree designed to prepare students for success in a wide range of careers in management. 
• The MBA with Advanced Studies in Management is a 16-month (4 terms, full time) degree that enables students to supplement the core MBA content with specialized courses in a range of areas. 

The two versions of the program help students to develop a comprehensive and integrated knowledge of business and management functions and a deeper understanding of the business environment. Students develop analytical, decision-making, and communication skills and enhance their abilities to examine ethical considerations in business. This program achieves these goals through intensive and stimulating lectures, energetic class discussions, contemporary and relevant case studies, and experiential learning projects. 

The MBA program is offered on a full-time and a part-time basis. 

Please pay particular attention to our admission requirements and note that Lakehead University will not assess admissibility of a student until a formal application for admission is received. Faculty of Business Administration accepts both GMAT and GRE. The Faculty of Business may choose to waive the GMAT test for candidates with excellent academic qualifications (see below for examples). Please do not email the faculty to request a waiver. If you apply without a GMAT, this assessment will be done automatically. There are a number of available GMAT/GRE preparation workbooks, websites and programs to help you achieve better scores. Make sure that official GMAT/GRE scores are available by and sent to Lakehead University in time. We would encourage you to apply if your qualifications reach our admission requirement.

Students who successfully complete the MBA program will have:

• Our graduates will think analytically to identify a problem and apply appropriate quantitative and qualitative analysis to develop workable solutions.

Goal 3.  Our graduates should be effective communicators.

• Our graduates will deliver clear and persuasive oral presentations to business audiences.
• Our graduates will prepare clear and persuasive written reports to business audiences.

Goal 4.  Our graduates should demonstrate the techniques to become effective business leaders.

• Our graduates will apply ethical resolution techniques to ethical dilemmas to provide recommended course of action.
• Our graduates will work well in teams.
• Our graduates will understand leadership theories.
• Our graduates will understand how globalization and the global environment impact individuals, businesses, and the economy.
