    About

    Why Choose This Course

Sustainability is an important part of our programmes. All four aspects of Planet, People, Profit and Innovation are considered as we work towards our goal of ‘Shaping leaders for a sustainable future'.

Planet features strongly in the programs where students study a dedicated environmental economics module. Understanding the role of people in developing a sustainable future cannot be underestimated. Students gain an insight into this in modules on labour economics and health economics. The role of profit is considered in a wide range of modules including corporate strategy. Innovation theories are considered in modules such as regional economics. The teaching teams also pride themselves in using innovative technologies and teaching methods in delivering the programme.

It is important that our students develop the skills they need for their chosen careers over the course of their chosen programme. In both degree and diploma programmes, there is an emphasis on developing presentation skills, professional writing skills and teamwork skills. Students also attend dedicated workshops delivered by the UCC Skills Centre and the UCC Careers Office.

These students will have successfully completed and passed 1 year of an approved programme of study in BTBU or BISTU with whom University College Cork has a bilateral agreement.
    2. Non-Scholarship students from approved Chinese Partner Institutions will have successfully completed and passed 2 years of an approved programme of study in a UCC partner university in China.

To be admitted to Second Year at UCC, students will be required to have:
