The Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma in Business is designed to give students the business skills, knowledge and understanding they need to achieve high performance in the international business environment. It provides students with the core skills required for a range of careers in business, including management, human resources, marketing, entrepreneurship, accounting and finance, while offering a balance between employability skills and essential knowledge. Students will develop their understanding of the major impact that new digital technologies have on the business environment and examine the opportunities and challenges presented by a global marketplace. Students will be equipped with knowledge and understanding of culturally diverse organisations, cross-cultural issues, diversity and values, and to allow flexible study to meet local and specialist needs. The Pearson BTEC Higher National qualifications in Business are designed to reflect the increasing need for high quality professional and technical education at levels 4 and 5. They provide students with a clear line of sight to employment and to a degree at level 6 if they choose. There is a flexible, unit-based structure to the course that focuses on developing the practical, interpersonal and thinking skills the student will need to succeed in employment and higher education.

GCSEs: The profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at C/grade 4 or (equivalent) including English and Maths. Other related level 3 qualifications: e.g., BTEC Level 3 in Business, Access to Higher Education Diploma GCSE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one subject. Relevant work experience, or an international equivalent to the above qualifications. Typical Offer: Students progressing from A level, Access to HE or BTEC programmes, wishing to study business.
