    Course overview

    Learn business by doing and experiencing it for yourself.
    On the BSc (Hons) Business Enterprise Development degree at Aston University, you will work in small project teams and larger learning organisations as part of the Team Academy Aston community to set up real projects and enterprises.

    Collaborating with your fellow team entrepreneurs, you will develop, sustain, and grow projects and enterprises that enhance your learning, make money, and deliver a positive impact to society.

    This innovative and practical programme is based on the Team Academy model of entrepreneurship education from Finland, and built on the following principles:

    • Develop your entrepreneurial capacity and mindset through learning-by-doing.
    • Experience the development of a real business that you own with a team of others.
    • Determine your own learning focus and needs, supported by team coaches who are there to guide and help you develop.

    The course is delivered by Aston Business School which is part of an elite group of global business schools that hold the gold standard of ‘triple-crown’ accreditation from AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS.

    BSc (Hons) Business Enterprise Development

    Our BSc (Hons) Business Enterprise Development degree will give you the opportunity to generate, evaluate, present, and develop new product, service, and enterprise ideas. You will launch your own project(s) and enterprise(s), developing your skills around marketing, sales, finance, HR, operations, strategy, and much more.

    What we will provide
    We give you the opportunity to learn-by-doing where you can set up your own company with a team of peers – real life business rather than simulation. You will be supported by a team of coaches who are there to guide you. You will also join a diverse, close community which welcomes students from over 120 countries.

    We are also an Adobe Creative Campus meaning you will have access to top-notch software licenses, including Adobe and Solidworks, commonly used in industry.

    What you will provide
    You will have a passion and willingness to embrace a new style of learning, collaboration and teamwork which is more aligned to the working world. You may be interested in setting up your own enterprise or want to lead the development and success of established organisations.

    You can set yourself apart - this course has been designed to equip you with the skills, competencies, and attitudes to enhance both your entrepreneurial mindset and leadership capabilities from business growth, team performance and leadership to innovation and entrepreneurship.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    You can apply for a Masters programme with an undergraduate degree from a recognised Saudi Arabian University.

    You should have a GPA of 3.6/5.0 Or 2.7/4.0 overall or above from a Saudi Arabian university. The specific requirement will vary depending on the course you are applying for at Aston and the Saudi Arabian university from which you have graduated.

    If you are applying for finance, engineering or science-based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

    You may be accepted with a lower IELTS score (see table below) - if your IELTS score meets the minimum criteria below you will be required to take a mandatory in-sessional English module during your course.

    Aston University is committed to ensuring that every student is fully prepared to take on the challenges of their Master's degree. As such, please note that if you achieve IELTS overall 6.0 (with no more than two bands at 5.5 and other bands at 6.0 or above) or an equivalent acceptable English Language Qualification you will be required to undertake a mandatory timetabled in-sessional English programme to be delivered by Aston University’s Centre for English Language and Communication. Further details will be provided after the enrolment process including timetable and classes you will be required to attend. This is provided at no additional cost.

    No other course develops the skills, attributes, and competencies necessary to thrive in the modern enterprise environment like this programme. It will give you the confidence, resilience, and experience to lead, manage or set up your own business, or to take your future in whatever direction you want.

    This is a new approach to learning and collaboration which is more aligned to the working world. You will gain real-life experience and will be able to draw on real examples in interviews of what you have achieved rather than learnt.

    You will have the tools and insights to set up your own business, and a third of our graduates from this course go on to do just that – run their own company.

    However, it is also a great course if you are looking to become ‘intrapreneurs’ – working for a company that assesses and promotes innovative product development and marketing, for instance.

    International opportunities

    This course is based on a module that was first released in Finland called Team Academy and is now practiced in seventeen countries, with four UK universities offering it. Once you have enrolled on this course you are linked to the global Team Academy hubs. Previous students have organised trips to Strasburg, Barcelona and Tampere to link with other Team Academies.
