    After learning the foundations of business management, digital innovation and entrepreneurship, you will have developed key skills such as analysis, research, and presenting arguments in order to excel in a management career.

    Businesses and organisations need people with analytical and problem-solving skills to address with the many challenges of either a fast-paced corporate world or a challenging small business or start-up. We will help you develop analysis, research, interpersonal and high level communications skills. You will also have skills to start up, manage and grow a business.

    You will learn to work effectively in teams and be able to present business management ideas with confidence. We also ensure you develop specialist knowledge, skills and techniques in:

    • Stakeholders – their expectations and behaviour
    • The environment of business and its impact on strategy
    • Design, production and distribution of products and services
    • Business resources – acquisition, application and control
    • Business process – planning, improvement and control
    • Innovation management and entrepreneurship
    • Critically evaluate factors that facilitate or block innovation in organisations.

    What you will learn

    You’ll learn practical skills in a live environment by working on group projects to develop a new product, concept or business.

    You’ll learn concepts like market research, risk management and teamwork. Your project also has the potential to be developed into a real-life business, product or service.

    You’ll also cover case studies on new technology firms like Airbnb and Amazon, helping you develop your own innovation skills.

    This highly regarded course will help you to:

    • Gain a broad understanding of key business concepts, with a strong emphasis on managing enterprise and innovation
    • Develop the entrepreneurial skills needed to launch your own business or social enterprise
    • Take part in practical, experience-based simulations and challenges with industry experts
    • Undertake an independent placement, either through the thin (over two summers) or thick (year-long) sandwich schemes
    • Take advantage of global study opportunities by transferring to our campuses in Dubai or Mauritius
    • Apply appropriate theoretical concepts and analytical tools and techniques to solve technological innovation-related management problems in a variety of contexts.

    You will need to meet our English language requirements. And, don’t worry If you don't meet our minimum English language requirements, as we offer a Pre-sessional English course.

    IELTS both online and paper-based exams accepted. Candidates can also re-sit a single component within 60 days of taking their test through IELTS OneSkill. MDX will accept certificates with a OneSKill retake component

    Placements

    A 12-month placement is offered at the end of year two (Thick Sandwich mode).

    Alternatively, you can opt for two smaller work experience placements over the years one and two of the programme (Thin Sandwich Mode).

    A dedicated employability advisor from MDXWorks helps in the search for an employer who can provide the student with an appropriate placement. They will also provide you with guidance and support in preparation for, as well as during and after the placement.

    At the start of the placement, you are allocated an individual supervisor who provides support and advice for the duration of the project, and you are supported throughout the programme through a series of external guest speakers, workshops and engagement with employers.

    The placement forms the basis for an assessed portfolio.
