    Dr Les Hutchison Undergraduate Scholarship

    This scholarship scheme will see £2,000 being awarded annually to one student to support the student experience in the Honours year of undergraduate study.

    This scholarship scheme will see £3,250 being awarded in the 2023/24 academic session to one student undertaking MEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering to support the student experience in the final year (Year 5) of study.     Entry Requirements

    Year 1:  Applicants must have completed the Certificate of General Secondary Education plus a relevant Foundation programme or Diploma Year 2:  Community College Diploma

    English Program Requirements

    If you do not fall into any of the categories above you will need to provide proof of your English language ability through the International English Language Test System (IELTS) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

    Duo Lingo

    For 2022-23 entry, the University has approved the use of the online Duolingo English test as evidence of English language ability. UWS will accept an overall score between 90-115 with no component score below 90.

    Career

    Placement Opportunities

    You will undergo a period of pilot plant-based training as part of the course and you can opt to take a one-year paid industrial placement between year 3 and year 4 as a supervised, junior chemical engineer.

    Placements are obtained competitively and can be in any branch of the chemical/process industry in the UK or abroad. Previous placements have included GlaxoSmithKline, British Nuclear Fuels, Doosan Babcock, Diageo and Sellafield Ltd.

    You will be required to pay a deposit to secure your place at the university.

    9: Attend a TEG credibility interview

    The purpose of this interview is to assess if students are credible and genuine. At this stage you will need to prepare your CAS documents for review.

    10. Apply for Visa

    International students, including nationals from EEA or Switzerland, would require a student visa to study at UWS London.
