The Child Advocacy Studies (CAST) minor builds multidisciplinary knowledge on child development, the family, social and legal systems, and child maltreatment (abuse and neglect). CAST is designed for students planning to pursue careers in child protection or other professional settings that work alongside children and their families and prepares students to effectively respond to victims of child maltreatment and/or trauma in a variety of prospective career fields. This minor curriculum was developed in partnership with Zero Abuse Project following their national CAST program standards.
