Child and Adolescent Studies, Elementary School Settings

The Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Studies requires 51 units of major coursework. All majors complete 27 units of core courses. In addition, majors choose one of four concentrations that each include 24 units of coursework. The concentrations allow students to focus on the population and context in which they are interested: Adolescent/Youth Development; Early Childhood Development; Elementary School Settings; and Family and Community Contexts.

In addition to the requirements for the major, students must meet all other university requirements for a bachelor's degree. Please consult the Graduation Requirements for the Bachelor's Degree  section in this catalog for complete information. A "C" (2.0) or better is required in all courses applied to the major. Course prerequisites are strictly enforced.

2. Prepare application materials such as transcripts, test scores (AP/IB), current and planned courses, annual household income, citizenship status and social security number (if available).
3. Credit/Debit Card or Paypal account to pay the $70 application fee (per campus), unless you qualify for an application fee waiver. Important: Cal State Apply automatically considers for an application fee waiver based on the information provided in the application, and provides immediate eligibility for a fee waiver. The use of fee waiver forms is not required.
