About
The subjects covered in the module include:
– Introduction to the PDP Module and KTS1.
– The other PDP competencies will be built into the taught content of the programme where applicable. The main indicative content that relates to the taught modules is 'sign-posted' as follows:
– Enhancing Learning in Early Years: KU1; CIS1; CIS2;
– Action Research for Early Years: KU2; CIS1; CIS3; KTS5;
– Safeguarding Children's Rights: KU3; PPS3; PPS4; PPS5;
– The other competency statements will be completed with the student's mentor and academic tutor through the course of the study.
The PDP competencies will be linked to the formal teaching on the programme. Research-based findings on 'action research' will be used within the learning strategy to encourage 'evidence-based practice'. Students will access self-study resource materials- media and Internet usage. Students will receive written and oral feedback to enable the improvement of future work.
Blended learning students will be taught via lectures and workshops during the residential days, with additional online learning via the virtual learning environment (BlackBoard). Telephone tutorial support will be available throughout your studies. In addition, time is set aside during the residential day for face to face tutorials.

Community college diploma with 65% minimum
Or, holders of a a Tawjihi 65%+ average plus a recognised foundation programme
Or, holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with 27 points or more will be considered for direct admission to Bachelor degree courses
Career
Students successfully completing the Bridging Module can progress onto the BA (Hons) Young Children and Early Childhood (Top up) degree. The degree can be study either part-time or via blended learning.
