    Alternatively, students may take individual courses. This option is directed at civil engineers seeking to undertake continuing education in specific areas or wishing to get a taster of the Masters degree programme. Although individual modules are fee-paying courses, they count towards the Masters degree programme if students decide at a later stage to complete the whole programme.

    Admission Requirements

    An undergraduate degree in a related field of study, such as

    • Civil and Environmental Engineering (Bachelor of Science)

    The following documents are required for the application:

    1. University entrance qualification (eg "Abiturzeugnis" or high school diploma) in officially certified copy. Not applicable if you are currently studying at Leibniz University Hannover.
    2. Certificate of completion of the Bachelor's degree programme in certified copy (if already available). If you are currently studying at Leibniz University Hannover, just send a simple copy.
    3. Complete and current grades of the previous study with details of the credit points and the average grade with signature and stamp (if the diploma is not yet available). In the case of a programme with a total score of 180, at least 150 credit points must be proven; in the case of a programme with a total score of 210, at least 180 credit points must be proven.
    4. Curriculum vitae in German language.
    5. Applicants who have neither a German higher education entrance qualification nor have obtained their Bachelor's degree from a German university must also have sufficient knowledge of the German language at the C1 GER level. Details on language certificates
    6. Applications from the People's Republic of China, Vietnam and Mongolia (except Macao, Hong Kong) are only considered in the admission procedure, provided that a certificate of the Academic Testing Center of the German Embassy (APS) is available.

    For master's degree programmes with unrestricted admission, all applicants who fulfil the admission requirements will be admitted a university place. The exact admission requirements can be found in the admission regulations:

    How to Apply

    You can use our online application portal to enrol any time between 1 June and 30 September. To be able to do this, you will need a qualification for admission to higher education. At the end of the online application, you will automatically be forwarded to a cover letter (the so-called application for enrollment). Sign this application for enrollment (handwritten or digital) and put it together with the required documents into one PDF document, which you can then upload using the upload link provided. The required documents include your qualification for admission to higher education (e.g. Abitur) and any other supporting documents such as practical training certificates or evidence of language proficiency. We also need proof of your health insurance and evidence that you have paid the semester fee. At the end of the online application, all required documents are listed and must be uploaded as a scan of the original documents by September 30th, 11:59 p.m. Please do not forget to upload your photo for the LeibnizCard . You can find information on this in the application for enrollment at the end of the online application. In September, you will receive your enrolment documents, an invitation to the welcome event for new students and information about any preparatory courses that may be offered. Please note that some degree programmes offer preparatory courses well before term starts.
