Classical Archaeology

About

The Master of Arts in Classical Archaeology furthers your understanding of Mediterranean cultures of Classical Antiquity as well as temporally and geographically contiguous cultures. The primary focus is on the problem-oriented understanding of research questions related to art and cultural history. For this purpose, the curriculum also draws on knowledge and insight from related disciplines such as ancient history, ancient philology, historical geography, Egyptology, prehistory and ancient civilizations, and art history.

English Program Requirements

proficiency in a modern foreign language at level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) (ideally Arabic, English, Italian, Modern Greek, Spanish or Turkish) Latin proficiency ('Latinum') or Ancient Greek proficiency ('Graecum') proficiency in a further ancient or modern foreign (B1) language international applicants: German language proficiency at minimum level DSH-2 (or a recognised equivalent)
