This is a new Higher National Diploma (HND) and is an exciting opportunity for learners to be part of the future in Cloud technology. The The Level 4 HNC (Year 1) gives students a sound knowledge of the fundamentals of this specialist area of computing, alongside training in different approaches to problem solving. The Level 5 HND (Year 2) provides a specialist focus, which is on Cyber Security. This is designed to support progression into the workplace in a specific cloud role. Pearson have collaborated with Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) through its AWS Educate initiative, to develop BTEC Higher National qualifications at levels 4 and 5 in Cloud Computing. The new integrated offering addresses the skills gap in the growing cloud computing field. All materials will be provided, some of which will be hosted by AWS cloud systems. This course is available to anyone who has a keen interest in computing and cloud systems with a focus on cyber security. Ideally, applicants will have foundation knowledge in many areas of computing. There is a prerequisite knowledge, which could be either from personal experience, relevant industry experience, or from formalised academic studies. This will be assessed on an individual basis through a formal interview as part of your application process. This career-focused qualification will enable learners to directly enter employment in the cloud computing industry or offer an opportunity to progress to a university degree. They will benefit companies by providing access to a uniquely skilled pool of cloud computing talent, whilst creating greater opportunities for graduates to be employed by the world’s leading companies. Additionally to this, completing learners could also pursue a degree level (level 6) apprenticeship following this pathway of study.

Students are required to have an overall Merit in a recognised Level 3 Computing Course.
For example, NED in Computing or T-Level in Digital Support Services.
GCSE/National 4/National 5 - GCSE Maths and English Language at grade 4/C or above.

A level - CCC
Students are required to have an overall C grade in a recognised GCE Programme. Must include a subject which demonstrates prior Computing knowledge.
For example, GCE Ad. L3 in Computing, Maths.

Access to HE Diploma - M: 45 credits
Applicants would need to demonstrate knowledge of Computing at L3 Advanced Level if Access Diploma is not in Computing. All applications from Mature students will be taken on individual merit.
