Comparative Literature with Film Studies BA

    About

Combine literature modules which embrace 10 languages and 5 continents and span over 2,500 years with the study of global film. The focus extends beyond Europe to the Americas, Australia, the Middle East, South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Each year includes two Film Studies modules, which will provide you with a detailed knowledge of both the creative potential of film, and the relationship between film and society.
  • All Comparative Literature modules are taught in English translation, though you are encouraged to read in the original language where possible and supported in the development of new linguistic skills.
  • Broad list of Film modules covering popular Hollywood, European and Asian film, underground and cult cinemas, documentary and new media, film and media philosophy, critical film and media production, among many other areas.
  • Flexible course - you'll have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of modules across a number of departments.
  • Central London location offers unique cultural resources - including exciting possibilities for further access to film, most notably King's close proximity to the British Film Institute Library, and the new BFI Southbank.
  • Provides a grounding for pursuing careers in the media arts and related activities.
