Comprehensive Engineering

Explore your options in your generic first year, before committing to an area of focus, to ensure you find your fit in the engineering world.

This option is intended for those who are undecided on which Engineering program they want to take. Prior to year 2, you're required to apply to change to one of the following Engineering programs:^*

• Automotive Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Energy Engineering**
• Industrial Engineering**
• Manufacturing Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Mechatronics Engineering
• Nuclear Engineering
• Software Engineering

*Changing programs is competitive; admission is not guaranteed to your program of choice and you may be placed in another Engineering program if you do not meet the requirements.

Learning environment

Students have access to new, modern buildings, libraries and innovative labs including: 

• ACE Climatic Wind Tunnel
• Clean Energy Research Laboratory (CERL)
• Energy Systems and Nuclear Science Research Centre (ERC)
• Ontario Power Generation (OPG) Engineering Building
• Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education (PACE) laboratories

All applicants to full-time undergraduate programs should apply in one of two ways; choose only one.

Option one:

The OUAC online application system allows you to apply to multiple Ontario universities or programs with one application. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Apply online using the OUAC website using the 105 application.
2. Be sure to apply by the application deadline for the program to which you want to be admitted—you can choose up to three programs.
3. Once the university receives your application from the OUAC, we will send you information regarding the next steps in the admissions process.

Option two:

If you are only applying to Ontario Tech, apply internally at ontariotechu.ca/internationalapplication. You can apply to three programs for a $100 application fee.

Post-secondary credentials gained outside Canada may be subject to a request to be authenticated by World Education Services (WES).
