    With a core focus on your future employability, this course will introduce you to the fundamentals of computer science. You will learn to develop systems that meet real business and organisational needs. You will consider the ramifications of how computer science has altered the way we relate to each other.

    The course will provide you with core skills and experience in computer science, including:

    • Applied mathematics
    • Computational languages acquisition
    • Algorithm design
    • Unit testing
    • Systems design and analysis.

    Your focus on practical application will be enhanced by a work placement module with an external organisation. A year in industry option is also available if you are seeking a more intensive employment experience. There will be opportunities throughout the course to apply your learned skills to real work challenges. Opportunities include:

    • Engaging with guest speakers from the industry
    • Live projects working to industry specifications
    • Organised trips to experience the roles you may want to work in after graduating.

    As part of this course you can choose to complete a year long placement in industry. This extends the length of your course to 4 years and is completed between year 2 and 3. It's a brilliant chance to gain work experience and apply your technical skills and knowledge.

    TOEFL iBT (home edition also accepted) Overall score of 75 (Listening 17, Reading 18, Speaking 20, Writing 20), other forms of TOEFL are not acceptable

    Make your application

    There are 3 ways to apply for a course:

    Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS)

    Register and log on to apply by visiting www.ucas.com. UCAS applications open annually on 1 September and the deadline for equal consideration of all applications is 15 January the following year. We will still consider applications made until 30 June, when UCAS closes. 

    When you apply through UCAS you will need:

    You will be able to create an application login, then search and apply for your chosen course.

    This form is for students applying for:

    • Candidate Statement
    • Copies of qualifications (translated into English where necessary)
    • Proof of English Language level
    • Academic references
    • Copy of passport photo page and any previous UK visas
    • CV.
