Overview
This integrated programme is designed to prepare and support you for a strong and rewarding experience in Computer Science for Artificial Intelligence (AI). It aligns you to the fundamentals of computing from the moment you enrol.
The programme provides the science, technology, engineering and mathematics background you'll need to confidently enter year one of the BSc (Hons) Computer Science for Artificial Intelligence programme. The first year of study will also develop transferable skills such as:
- communication
- professionalism
- teamwork
- creativity
The foundation year is taken in common with four complementary engineering disciplines:
- Biomedical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil & Structural Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
The following year is in common with Computer Science, Computer Science for Cyber Security, and Software Engineering. This allows you to transfer after this common year if you feel an alternative programme better suits your emerging interests and career aspirations.
Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate (CDIO) forms a core element of this programme, based around developing innovative and sustainable solutions to real-world problems and closely linked to our well-developed industrial collaborations.
