    Computer Science Networking

    About

    The Computer Science Networking major is designed to give students the critical thinking and technical skills needed for designing, building, managing, and securing computer networks across all industries that will keep people connected and information flowing. Students will acquire a foundation in LAN, WAN, and mobile networks as well as the cybersecurity knowledge to secure these networks.
  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of Computer Science-specific content (programming in a higher-level language; computer’s internal organization).
  • Students will demonstrate critical thinking in Computer Science.
  • Students will demonstrate communication skills reflective of professional standards in Computer Science.
  • Students will demonstrate Computer Science-specific calculation-based skills (ability to work with different bases, internal data representations, digital logic).
  • Students will demonstrate readiness for post-baccalaureate entry into workforce or advancement (entrance) into graduate or professional programs.
  • Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Prospective students must meet two of the following three criteria:

    • Minimum high school 3.5 GPA
    • Minimum 27 ACT or 1100 SAT score
    • Graduate in top 10% of high school class.

    In addition to applying to the University, eligible students must submit a separate application for the BA/MA Program along with 3 letters of recommendation and a writing sample, as well as participate in an interview with BA/MA faculty.

    English Program Requirements

    • Completed online application for admission.
    • Official transcripts from the last 4 years of high school.
    • Transcripts need to be translated into English.
    • One or more of the following test scores:
      • SAT scores(writing not required)
      • ACT scores(writing not required)
      • TOEFL scores - 62 or higher required
      • IELTS scores:
        • 5.5 overall or higher on the IELTS, as a whole
        • Only one sub score on the IELTS can fall to a 4.5.
        • If a student has a 5.0 on the IELTS, they can submit an ESL certificate showing proof of language proficiency; however, the IELTS date cannot be after the dates of ESL completion.
      • The Duolingo English Test - 95 or higher
      • Cambridge English Assessments:
        • B2 First – 160 or higher required
        • C1 Advanced – 160 or higher required
        • C2 Proficiency – 180 or higher required
